CHAT QUESTIONS:  CLIMATE JUSTICE

1. How do you contribute to climate injustice and what is your role in helping to protect the environment?
2. What is your biggest concern when it comes to climate justice?
3. What has your school done to help reduce climate change? What ideas do you have?
4. What resources/ organizations/ causes do you know of that help increase awareness of climate justice? (#teamseas)
5. Who do you see making the biggest difference in climate justice – today’s youth or today’s adults? How are they making a difference?

*The same questions will be used for the Slow Chat all month long. We recommend classes spend time answering the questions ahead of time so time during the chat can be spent liking tweets, retweeting, quoting tweets in reply, and collaborating with others.

Tweet and Talk Expert on Panel: Aarisha Elvi Haider

Aarisha’s interest and work are inspired by the people she has encountered in her past. Particularly, her place based learning in Peru has given her the humble privilege of living and learning from the local Kichwa-Lamista community about Sumak Kawsay, loosely translated as ‘buen vivir’/’good living’; a way of life that largely shapes her understanding of “Rights of Nature” and how to hold space. Over the years, her involvement with project management and research have always informed the importance of story-telling, and its role in policy and decision making, compelling her to pursue hands-on, grassroots work in tandem with policy. With an interest in decolonizing policies, Aarisha intends to bridge knowledge gaps with on-going education by collective learning, story-telling and inter-cultural dialogue. Aarisha is also a sun-baby who loves spending her time hanging upside down and takes tricking/hand balancing classes to keep her grounded.
